Payments, Deposits and Reservations:
Tariffs are payable on arrival or the following morning, at the latest, for arrivals after office hours.   No refunds under any circumstances for late arrivals or early departures.  Deposits are due within 7 days of booking or at least 24 hours before arrival for late bookings.  Deposits are non-refundable. Exceptions are made for extenuating circumstances at management’s discretion, in which case a cancellation/handling fee will be charged. Please see the cancellation policy below.  An R200.00 cash breakage/key deposit is required for self-catering units.  An R100.00 cash deposit is required for the boom gate tag for each vehicle wishing to access the resort.  Tariffs quoted at the time of booking are subject to change without prior notice.  The name we have against the reservation is responsible for the account. For group reservations where individual families are responsible for their accounts, the reservations office must be provided with the name, contact number and e-mail address of the various individuals responsible for the payments.  All peak holiday periods and long weekends are governed by a policy whereby management implements a minimum number of nights required for bookings. If you are unsure whether your stay falls into one of these periods, please ask us for clarity.  Stored vans, safari tents, glamping tents and self-catering units are charged for a minimum stay of 2 nights.  Rates are quoted per 24-hour period. Unauthorized early arrivals or late departures will be charged for an extra night.  Please consult with management should you want to arrive early or depart late.
Site Allocations:
Group bookings over peak holiday periods will be required to share sites, with a maximum of 8 guests per site.  While every attempt is made to allocate sites as per guest’s preferences, we reserve the right to reallocate sites to accommodate reservations with conflicting dates or groups. Site numbers (except private ablution sites) given by the reservations office are not guaranteed.  We reserve the right to change your booked site as per our operational requirements.   We are in the process of upgrading the Glamping Tents and making them permanent tents on certain sites. This might result in caravan/camping sites needing to be reallocated to accommodate the permanent tent or for other logistical reasons associated with the establishment of permanent tents.  Out of courtesy, we endeavor to contact guests with definite site preferences before reallocating sites.
Arrival and Departure Times:
Arrival time is from 2:00 pm and departure time is before 10:00 am.  Early arrivals or late departure times may be allowed by prior arrangement only.  Strictly no early arrivals or late departures over long weekends, Easter, throughout December or the first week of January.
General Resort Rules:
Children under 10 years must be accompanied by an adult in the ablutions.
Please leave the ablutions as you would like to find them.  Maximum 8 persons per caravan/camping site.  Maximum 6 persons per self-catering unit.  No loud noise, music or other disturbances will be tolerated at any time of the day. Any noise heard beyond your site or self-catering unit is considered a disturbance.  No music is to be played from vehicles at any time.  Only music organized by management is allowed in public areas.  NO PETS ALLOWED (Fine: R200 per day per pet)  No fireworks or firecrackers to be let off on our property (this includes the farm fields and the land adjacent to the river). Please note that the Cathkin Valley is governed by by-laws that prohibit fireworks.  No fires are allowed on the ground. Fires are only permitted inside a braai stand.  All Flora and Fauna is protected by law. Open-mesh groundsheets are permitted on all sites.  All other types of groundsheets (e.g. plastic, shade cloth, closed weave) are permitted on gravel sites only.  No off-road motorbikes, quad-bikes or other motorized recreational modes of transport are to be ridden on the property.  No washing of vehicles, bicycles or caravans with hosepipes is allowed.  We strongly recommend that mountain bikers (of all ages) wear helmets at all times when riding on our various tracks and the skills park. Guided rides and races have a strict “no helmet – no ride” policy.  No bikes, rollerblades or skateboards are allowed on the tennis courts.
